Well that was a very enjoyable evening! The food was great, the company lively and a good time was had. The raffle which was donated by our recent guest artist John Hopkins, was won by Colin and Jennie. Big thanks go to all those who organised the event, to the chefs and the washer-uppers, not forgetting the rubbish collectors!

2nd June John Hopkins update
Fab demo tonight by John Hopkins. He sketched the picture below out in 10 mins flat! A view of Bewdley that we all know and have probably tried to sketch or paint. He then proceeded to show us how he paints skies then blocks in the buildings. He advised us to ignore the small details and used large paintbrushes except for a few final touches. A very realistic result yet very little detail. Brilliant evening and lots of tips picked up. We will have a go at street scenes on our sketch crawl in Stourport week after next, so get your pencils sharpened, and the paints and brushes ready. And don’t forget there is a work night next week having a go at figure drawing. It’s all go!
2 June 2016, guest artist John Hopkins

Why not come along and enjoy an informative evening in good company? All welcome, non-members £5 on the door.
14 April Talk by Peter Bishop
Kidderminster Art Society enjoyed a talk by artist Peter Bishop about his work and methods of creating his art last Thursday. He also made comparisons with other artists who painted the same subject and gave the members an insight into the many ways a scene might be interpreted. Peter has been painting Cader Idris, views of Snowdonia since 1987 and has recently published a book on the subject.
