Dear Members, We will kick off the year with a socially-distanced gathering at the George Hotel in Bewdley for a bite to eat and an indoor sketching session. A provisional programme for the year will be made available to give you some idea about the proposed activities. Hope to see you there!
A fab evening was had with members learning about frottage, or rubbings. Member Tess demonstrated her methods of creating unusual and original art using textures and rubbings from everyday objects. Members were invited to have-a-go and bring along items that they had collected. The project will be continued at the next meeting on 25th November 2021, so do try to be there and see what you can come up with.
Despite a difficult year, KAS has managed to hold a few meetings and outdoor events this year. We now need to look forward to the coming year and start arranging our programme for 2022. Committee members are invited to meet on 2nd December to put forward their ideas.
The latest Newsletter is now available, see Newsletters link on the right.
Our next meeting will be on 11th November 2021 at 7.15pm at Trimpley Village Hall where member Tess will be talking about what inspires her art and demonstrating some of her techniques. Members will have the opportunity to have a go and get creative during the second half of the evening, with a follow-up session on 25th November.
The theme for our October meeting is ‘Leaves’. Interpret however you want. Bring your reference materials to our next meeting on 14th October and see what you can create. Here is Karen’s watercolour of abstracted autumn leaves to get you started.
Big thanks to Clive Betts for his brilliant talk about perspective at the meeting. I certainly learnt a few new things. We will be following up on perspective at our next meeting on 23rd September where Clive and other members will help each other get to grips with it.
All members are invited to submit up to 3 paintings for the Witley Court exhibition which will commence on 1st September 2021. For full details download the application form here or visit the exhibitions page.
