2018 – Exhibition at Kidderminster Library

The exhibition is up and we’ve already had quite a few people through! Many thanks to everyone for your artwork and huge thanks to the hanging team, without them it would not have happened. Shelley, Ed, Colin, Dave and Karen, also to Kevin and Justine for their input and tea!

This year we are featuring a special display to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1. All members were given a small canvas to paint for the exhibition. They were then available to purchase by the public for £5 each and all proceeds given to the Poppy Appeal

Poppy Exhibition at Kidderminster Library

In addition to the poppy display and the regular exhibition a number of members have been creating ‘art books’ this year. Here is sneak preview. They will be on view at our annual exhibition at Kidderminster Library from Saturday 3rd November.

4 Oct 2018 – talk by Steve Ridley

Members spent a fascinating evening in the company of Steve Ridley on Thursday 4th  October 2018. Steve gave us a brief insight into the artists of WW1 and their work. Far from the propaganda you would expect of government-funded art, many of the artists of the day used their art to show the horrors of war rather than glorify it. Definitely a subject worth looking at in more depth.
